Here is a piece of trivia: When its New Years Day and you’re from Sydney and you’ve just landed in Melbourne at 7.30am and you want breakfast, too bad. Nowhere is open. You’ll cruise the Good Food Guide looking for places to eat, you’ll find the 5 best breakfasts in Melbourne, you’ll call all of them and they’ll all be shut until 7 January. Then you’ll have a flash of genius and think “Hang on, the Casino never closes, lets go there!” And then you’ll stroll down Southbank and find that World Bar and Grill will feed your grumbly tummy even if they make you wait 45 minutes while you finish your coffee and contemplate eating the latte glass.
There were lots of Melbournians soothing their New Years hangovers here, some good breakfasty fare and staff who hid their hangovers surprisingly well.
